One reason people are coached to try to save a million dollars is so that it will support them for life. Dave Ramsey calls it the Pinnacle Point. He says to mulitply your nest egg by 8%. A million would cough up $80,000 for the year without draining the fund assuming 12% annual growth. (This is also why we haven’t stopped our 401K contributions.)
Compare that to what the Money Game will cough up in a single transaction down the line. Let’s say that you haven’t had to use the profits much, if at all, and you’ve diligently worked to level up over and over again. If you’ll follow the levels down, the amount it returns each time grows quickly. It’s fun to check out what a simple 5% return will give you down the line. For example, when you get around level 230, you’ll have approximately $350,000. 5% of that is $17,500. I don’t know a lot, but I know if I manage to get that much together growing my money one level at a time, I’m going to know what to do to make $17,500 more.
So will you.
