Before I get into today’s post, I want to give a shout out to friends on the Debt Free Fanatics Board. We used to be together on the Dave Ramsey message boards before they were closed. We’ve cheered each other on as we got out of debt, built our emergency funds and even paid off a few homes. It’s a great place for support as you learn to live on a budget, stretch your money, and build wealth. Some of the members started getting into the Money Game and I’m loving the discussions over there.
Start now, set a budget for each person on your list, shop carefully while you have time, come in under budget and put that savings in the Money Game. If we get busy, we could be done by Thanksgiving (and be richer for it).
Do you have a website or strategy for saving money on nice gifts? Let’s get this started and share what we know and what we learn with each other.
I’m going to start with one of my favorite cheap, nice gifts – it’s a simple notebook that comes with the reipient’s favorite photos and name on the cover. It’s only $20 shipped and I usually budget $50 for my sisters.
This isn’t an affiliate link (I haven’t monetized this blog yet) but this went over so well that I think I’m going to do it again for at least one sister:

I’d love to hear more ideas if you have some. I use a spreadsheet to track the people on my list, what I budget for them and how much I spent. I keep all the gifts in one section of a closet so I can find them at Christmas. It’s probably a little too early to wrap right?
I’m betting we could go crazy with this. I’m also wondering what else we could do to make Christmas nicer while spending less. Thoughts?
I leveled up by the way. With all the excitement of our trip out west, I forgot about my social security check which just hit our bank account. After tithing and setting aside taxes, I’m depositing $839.69.
